So, it’s been more than a week since New Year’s…
Depending on which report you read only 10% – 20% of New Year’s resolutions succeed. Meaning 80-90% of resolutions are a flop and get rolled over to the next year.
This ain’t your first time around the sun. Kicking off the New Year with a glass of champagne has basically become your moment to cheers ‘a fond farewell’ to the resolution you’re about to dump.
What’s the one resolution you keep setting but have still not achieved? I know you have one.
This may feel uncomfortable but, I’m calling you out on your shi* here.
The ball drops at midnight and you have that inspiring feeling that things are about to change in a big way. There is hope. You feel it! Things are different! There is a new year and it is right here! But, what happens after you go to bed and wake up after your New Year’s party? It’s easy but you fall right back into the same old habits because it’s just another day. Ok, maybe today you have a hangover or maybe your best friend ended up in bed next to you but, it’s just another day.
That inspiring feeling you had about all those changes you said you would make may last a few hours or a few days but inspiration is an unfaithful partner. It will leave you for some other bright eyed and bushy tailed dreamer if you leave it untouched for a few hours. Ouch right?!
Right now, right here, as you read this: Throw out the resolutions you already failed on and replace them with a “F**k It”. You need to give yourself that moment.
The good news is you don’t have to wait for a new year to have your first FIM. You can do it here and now. Allow yourself to scream it out right now. Feels good, doesn’t it?
If you broke that resolution before, chances are this year is no different. End the madness. Stop the cycle today and do something different NOW. Challenge yourself to find where the REAL pain is. You know what I mean, the REAL thing you are running from. What is blocking you from becoming the better version of you? What are you no longer willing to feel crappy about?
Now that you’ve officially had your first FIM. It’s time to hold yourself accountable. Get one of your most trusted friends to intervene today like a drill sergeant. Make them hold you to it.
The days of your novel, tinsel covered, champagne induced, resolutions are over. Be accountable, make champagne waves that change the landscape of your life.
